Red Body Disease

Red Body DiseaseCaused by environmental shock (sudden pH change, temperature shift, high toxins), Vibrio infection, or mineral deficiency. Stressed shrimp → red chromatophore expansion.

Symptoms

Pinkish or dark red body, especially at tail and pleopods. Lethargic swimming, gathering at pond edges, reduced feeding. Severe cases show scattered mortality.

Risk Level

Must treat within 12-24h. If Vibrio-caused — can progress to EMS. If environment-caused — stabilization leads to recovery.

Treatment Protocol

1. Immediately check pH, NH3, NO2, temperature, DO.

2. Stabilize environment: ALKA UP (alkalinity), GROWMIN (minerals).

3. Disinfect: POWER GLUTA.

4. Reduce stress: VIMIX, CANFORTA (Vitamin C).

5. Reduce feeding 50% for first 2 days.
