EHP (Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei)
EHP (Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei) — Caused by the microsporidian parasite Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei — parasitizes hepatopancreas cells. Transmitted through feeding (eating dead/infected shrimp, contaminated feces) or infected water.
Symptoms
Significant growth retardation, size variation, white feces, shrunken pale hepatopancreas, high FCR, weakened shrimp prone to Vibrio.
Risk Level
EHP doesn't cause acute mortality but causes growth retardation throughout the crop, high FCR, financial loss. Combined with Vibrio → mass mortality.
Treatment Protocol
1. No specific cure — prevention is key.
2. Thoroughly treat ponds before stocking (CaO lime, sun-dry bottom).
3. Mix HERB GUARD + PRO GUT to protect hepatopancreas and gut.
4. Boost immunity with AQUAMOS, CLEVER.
5. Control Vibrio with regular POWER GLUTA.
6. Remove weak/dead shrimp from pond.
