PRO SUR — butyric acid for gut recovery and Vibrio suppression

1. Why butyric acid matters for shrimp gut

Butyric acid is a short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) — pure fuel for intestinal mucosal cells and an effective lumen-pH suppressor of harmful bacteria. The Glycerin Fatty Acid Ester in PRO SUR safely delivers butyric acid past the stomach into the small intestine, where it's needed.

When Vibrio has eroded the shrimp gut (TPD, EMS, white feces), PRO SUR restores the absorptive cell layer and lowers pathogen pressure — without antibiotics.

2. Dosage — prevention and treatment

Mix with clean water, blend into feed, coat with ATOMIC, dry 20 min:

• Routine prevention: 3 – 5 g/kg feed, 1 meal/day, repeat every 5 – 7 days throughout the cycle.
• Light deworming: 5 g/kg, 1 meal/day, 2 consecutive days.
• Gut disease treatment: 7 – 10 g/kg, 2 – 3 consecutive days.
• Combine with digestive enzymes and prophylactic herbs in the same meal for synergy.

3. Antibacterial evidence — TPD and EMS

In-vitro studies by Than Vuong's technical team show PRO SUR at 1.5% produces a 2.3 cm inhibition zone against V. parahaemolyticus VP4-24 — the TPD “glass-body” strain in whiteleg shrimp post-larvae. This is the foundation for PRO SUR's role as a core piece of the TPD protocol alongside CLEVER.

4. When to add PRO SUR to the protocol

• After the acute phase of white feces / EMS — when gut rehab is needed.

• After water disinfection (chlorine, BKC) when gut microbiome must reseed.
• Pair with BIOZYME (digestive enzymes) or AQUAMOS (yeast) for boosted resistance.

5. Storage & notes

Shake well. Reseal after use. Store dry, cool, ≤ 30°C. For heavily contaminated ponds, combine with water disinfection (Vibrio Clear) and water probiotic reseeding (SOILMAX, MAX 4000).
